In the twilight, loves last blooming
Sat she there as if of stone
In her mind the thoughts were creeping
To the past where love once lived

Through the years, two lives had mingled
Sharing joy and love and tears
Now she sits, looks ever backwards
Yearning for the love that's gone

Though her hair now all is silver
And her hands do ceasless shake
In her eyes there lives the youthful
Memories and feelings still

Few regrets she has to offer
Of the life she lived with glee
Children born and raised with laughter
Beside her Great and Grand now stand

In the twilight, loves last blooming
Place she there upon the stone
All her love and life's true treasure
Symbolized within the rose

Lay she there amoung the sleeping
Reaching past her life's last breath
To the one who is now waiting
Waiting for his heart once more

There they run with wild abandon
Young once more in heaven's realm
Joined in love that is enduring
Two as one are One again

Marylin,

This is gorgeous!

"In the twilight, loves last blooming".
Wonderful line! That which follows is equally good.

Oh Marilyn this is wonderful that you have these beautiful memories in your past to look back on and enjoy.   I have been thinking about these things a bit lately and I though about how sad it must be for a woman that was married to an abuser or womanizer to look back on her life with sorrow...missed opportunites.  After losing a spouse thru diviorce or death can we look back with loving memories or discust.
It is so precious that you have loving memories in your past. A very touching poem. James

Marilyn-
Some beautiful thoughts here.
This rolls gently.
I like it very much.
Reminds me of a lesson in
the arthmetic of love.
