Mail Call
~~~~~~~~~~~~
When asked to name your poison
some people will agree
A letter marked ' find cheque enclosed '
is the best one to receive
~
A post card from a far off land
and a greeting card were chose
There's the letter that agree's with you
you can handle lots of those
~
The mail call works it's magic spell
on each and every one
As long as you can disregard
the letters that spoil the fun
~
The letter that means the most to me
by far the one I choose
Is scrawled with crayon by a tiny hand
and spells good-bye to blues
Amen to those letters written in crayon.  I'll take those anyday.  They are even better than a check.  Love the poem.  Right on.
A letter wrote in crayon,
Is such a lovely thing.
It sets my lips a smilin',
And gives my heart a ping.
Those letters wrote in crayon,
Will make my sad soul sing.
Unless the address is from the "stute",
They be the weirdest thing!
Thanks so much for this, it is wonderful! We have an institute here at Passions. The inmates are insane and I believe it is Andrew Scott who is the crayon king...lol. Once you are here a while and get to know the crazy goings on you will understand the "stute". I hope you enjoy our home!
They are definitely the best letters of all, I agree! This is precious, Rex!
Poignant and sweetened with a touch of innocence that I love. Wonderful message, Rex. Welcome.
Rex-
Awwwwww !
This is just the thing that touches
the hearts of moms, dads, grandma's,
grandpa's .... and poets.
I have EVERY note, letter, card,
postcard and picture colored that my
children ever gave me.
What a sentimental pack-rat I am ...
Makes me just feel all
'mushy and stuff' inside.
So glad you shared a piece of your heart.
Thankyou everyone ... I love children ... and with a grandson just turned two ... I'm
sure I'll get a few refrigerator posters
Come to think of it ... what color is our
fridge?
