HE WAS BORN OF A STAR

He was born of a star
Of the moon given birth
And his spirit spun silk
As it circled the earth
And his mind finely wove
Splendid notions of worth

He was raised in the field
Where the meadow lark sings
And his ear filled with
Wonderful magical things
And his mind wrote the music
For poets and kings

Then he lived in a world
Of sweet thoughts of the mind
And his spirit created
A soul good and kind
And he followed the dream
That he set out to find

So he read all the words
Of phylosophy's hue
And he scrolled on his mind
All the notions anew
And saw them reflect
On the dawn's early dew

He painted these visions
On canvas of art
And wrote splendid verses
Like soft meadow lark
But he felt incomplete
Without love in his heart

So he gathered up stars
From the great galaxy
And birds of the meadow
And fish of the sea
Then he spun silk of love
And he gave it to me

Hey Liz,

Don't start with the thanks so fast. Give me a chance to reply.

This was beautiful. It reminds me (like one of my favorte people used to say) that "we are all made of star stuff."

Elizabeth,
You have captured the stars the moon and the sun.
And thrown in a plum for a special someone.
You have sent the meadow lark to tell of your love.
I see him circling high up above.
A beautiful poem. Love Sy

Fair Elizabeth-
Such melodic phrases flow from
your fingertips.
Sing on, little meadow lark ...
how lovely is thy song.
