Where Does Time Go?

Where does time go...
The time that seems so endless,
The days that seem so long.
Does time fly like a feather...
Slowly fading, gently stopping,
Or does it wash away...
As does a tear from our cheeks.

Where does time go...
Does time bring death,
Or bring promises of life.
And if death...
Will time go on without the love of another soul.

Is time immortal...
And if so, why can't man be immortal...
Afterall, it is man who makes use of time,
Not the air or the sky.

Where does time go...
And where will time go when life has ceased...
Will time fade, as does man,
Or will it join us in death.

Is time really a mystery...
Will time ever cease...
Where does time go?

Contemplative and thought provoking and well written. I hesitate to a reply in rhyme to you here so I'll have it posted  under title "When".

I don't think time ever ceases...only stands still in that one precious moment when two people fall in love...Wonderful poem!!

Marie~
I like to think that time takes wing
and returns again and again.
I've heard it said that time flies
so perhaps it's on ....
The wing of sparrow,
the flutter of butterfly,
Time goes round ...
Man wastes it.
We all want more of it.
Yet when we have it ... we hurry past it.

As you can see ... you've created a
thought-provoking piece.
Thank you.

Pondering your poem.  My mind is whirling on this one.  Great work, and I do mean great.  It makes one think.  Magnificent.

I sense sadness and maybe even defeat in this poem... oh, and you're making me THINK!

Nicely done, Marie.
