Inner Strength

I was a million miles away when you did those things to me
A million miles away to let my mind be free
Free from the hurt
The humiliation
The anxiety
You had your way with me and enjoyed it to the end
I just shut you out,I knew how to just pretend
You were no casanova, like you thought you were
Love for you was here and now and taken at the spur
Anywhere, time or place it didn't matter how
I'm just so glad it's all over now
I thought I was so in love with you
I did anything for you
Too much for you, not enough for me
I'm so glad we're through
It's been a long long time, many years in fact
But thankfully my heart is still in tact
I see you now and then and wonder if your still the same
I wonder if your wife plays at my own game
I wonder if she shuts you out, sometimes just pretends
I wonder how her mind reacts and how her heart defends
Maybe it was just me
Maybe I was too weak
I was so very young and so terribly meak
No longer am I though, And thats one thing I thank you for
The experience has made me strong, and this knowledge I will store

I too have been there and can relate.  The games, the confusion and saddness.  The betrayal of love.  You have written the pain well.

Dear Denise, Sea and Childomine...I was young and this was my first love I thought it was going to be forever but I was betrayed in so many ways. I wrote this many years later and so you can see It still aches me inside. Thanks for taking the time to read it...Tracie

Only someone who experience this could possibly write this. How very sad, but I can see you are strong now.
Very well written
Liz
