The Love Poet

A more eloquent song I've never known
For over me its words have thrown
A comfort soft of mourning dove
To blanket me with warming love

Passion pours from his poet pen
And fills the page with love and then
He holds me in his warm embrace
With words of light angelic grace

I feel encircled by his charms
Held captive by poetic arms
Of wondrous verse and fragile phrase
That leave my spirit in a daze

I'm in a haze of misty sea
Held prisoner by his wizardry
My heart is captive in the clutch
Of his linguistic magic touch

He offers me a verbal wine
Of pure and rarest vintage fine
That fills my veins with muse's fire
And stirs the essence of desire

And in the verse's flow and ebb
I'm caught in his poetic web
Of strange exquisite mystery
Exactly where I want to be

I'm in poetic heaven's gleam
So please don't wake me from this dream

Elizabeth Santos

Elizabeth, my friend-
This is a bottle of rare vintage
fill ... with flavor and bouquet.

Positively exquisite.

Liz... yanno, if my poetry does this to you, I'll have to write less so lil Lorelei doesn't feed me the keyboard!  lol

This poem flows wonderfully, and is filled with terrific similes.  Well done, Ms. Santos.

Elizabeth,
You have shed your cacoon, your wings are airing.
And have captured the moment with your daring.
With the colors of your words and phrase.
You have put this poet in a daze.
Exquisite poem,love Sy
