                      If,
             I could take your hand
and become a friend to care,
                   I would,

                      If,
             I could touch your scars
              and make them disappear
                   I would,

                      If,
             I could kiss your cheek
           and make bad memories vanish,
                   I would,

                      If,
             I could kiss your lips
and bring Love to your life,
                   I would,

                      If,
I could hold you in my arms
and promise joy to your heart,
                   I would,

                      If,
             I could embrace your soul
and bring peace to your spirit,
                   I would,

                      If.....

Filled with longing I could feel...this is lovely Danny...

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!

Danny,
This poem is absolutely beautiful. I sense a lot of feelings of helplessness in this piece and I understand exactly how you feel. It's hard to watch people suffer and not be able to do anything to help. Sometimes though, just a kind word goes a long way in easing the hurt, helping scars to heal and sometimes no matter how many if's we have, how much we want to do, nothing we can do can help anyway, it's just something they have to get through on their own. This is a wonderfully written poem in any aspect you choose to see it from and I think the person it's written for is very lucky to be thought of so caringly.

I can live with the idea
That we are merely actors
Playing a part
But I do wish
Whoever is writing my script
Would learn to use
A few more Happy Endings

Danny-

If ...
I could say this is lovely,
I would.

It is ...
and I do.
