Loosing the Oscar

The bitter sweet is what you crave
As an actor on stage, commitment
is the role you play
A bleeding heart of longing love
Sent to me from heaven's above

And playing deep, you do succeed
In a dreamers heart, you find your lead
Take open stock to call your own
Take a lonely heart into your home

Weaving and dodging the deadly seed
You mustn't stray from make believe
As you act out, each and every line
So real it is with in my mind

Like talking to a big brick wall
Your feelings get hurt, as you recall
Each line and verse you did recite
To get us through the lonely nights
And when the house got in your way
You go, with out a word to say

So alone again this heart retreats
Back in to its sleepless sleep
Where dark and dreary thoughts reside
The truth of never having you by my side

My own free will , long gone away
Leaving me here with a role to play
Ashamed am I to face the truth
Now in years, far beyond my youth
A dreamers lover I have been
Awaken now, as all dreams must end

Oh Lord, how I wanted to believe
There was true feelings in these parts
you conceived
But as I look back over lines again,
I realize this is a role I could never win

I liked this poem -- wise imagery and truthful messages. One question: did you mean Losing the Oscar? Either way, cool title.

What a poem, so sad. The bleeding heart such strong line well done Tori

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

So sad and so beautiful....Tori, this is an excellent piece....

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!
