Sleep well, my loved one, wherever you are -
Iíve waited Ďtil dawn for your coming;
The babies have slept softly all night long,
And I lie here alone while youíre roaming.

I love you, my darling, and I always will -
Itís easier when youíre not tied here ...
For I canít be angry when you go away,
But I miss you when you donít abide here.

You must be asleep somewhere, sweetheart, by now -
I wonít break my heart over you longer -
Iíll cuddle your pillow and wish you sweet dreams,
And Iíll pray that your love will grow stronger.

When I see your sweet face again at my door -
I know it will set my heart leaping ...
Thereís joy in just seeing you - thrill in each kiss,
And each moment with you is worth keeping.

So Iíll tarry a while - be content with your smile,
And I wonít expect more than Iím getting;
Though sometimes itís terribly lonely and hard,
Still the sun of my love wonít be setting.

Kaleidoscope, very nice poem. I must agree with the ladies, expect more for your love. There is someone who will love you more.
