  The breath of dream

It's the breath of sleep
And the wash of its lay,
The wake of each sweep,
Till it passes away.

The hours recast,
Of minutes refill,
Where time and the past
Are virgin and still.

Where magic takes place
And the heart drinks its fill.
Where the rule is grace
And age has no bill.

Where else can we scheme,
But the breath of each sleep?
Where the wake of a dream,
Is a treasure to reap?

Without this release,
We would soon be at odds.
There would no peace
And there would be no Gods.

Well done there Sy
Forgive in case I repeat my self here
They say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one" John Lennon.
You sure know how to write a dream

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Your breath of sleep,
And of the dream,
Are some of the best,
I've ever seen.

But true breath of sleep,
Is hard to endure,
That's why there's mouthwash,
For that morning-breath cure.

Hope you don't mind if I reply a second time, but I think this is one of the most beautiful poems I've ever read

Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn.

Beautiful (as always!) and quite lilting, I found myself wishing I had a cot here at work so I could have some dreams of my own.   Great work, Sy.

May I never be too busy to help another's load,
Then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.
