Stairs, but where do they lead?
I climb, out of curiousity.
What is it that killed the cat?
Too late now.
Onwards and upwards.
An unending pattern of plodding, methodic steps.
But where do they lead?
It becomes darker and darker.
What's happened to the rest of the stairs?
No matter, I've forgotten how to climb down.
Why must I keep going?
Finally the top.
What is this?
A door!
Curiosity again.
AH!  A place to sit, a chair.
Finally, I can rest!

Just be glad I'm not your child! *evil grin*

Yes I agree with Bad Boy, we may always have one more step, but we also have that chair so that we may rest.

Where's that chair?  I haven't found it yet!
Oops, I guess I have, I seem to be sitting on it at the moment. Aaahhh~  climbing can be tough, but we always wanna be going up! Thank God for the rest.  Glad to see you got so motivated here, they were all great Melanie!

Echo,

Very nice poem. I get it--climb on, climb on--something I can relate to very much. Only just when I find that chair, someone pulls it ou from under me.

Reaching the top is more enjoyed but the climb with another by your side.  Thanks for sharing Echo

I don't buy temporary insanity as they murder defense. Because
people kill people. That's and animal instinct. I think breaking
into someone's home and ironing all their clothes is temporary
insanity.
