Little hand prints on the window
Memories captured in time
Even if I wanted to wipe them away,
How could I?
The imprint is implanted now
A moment forever frozen
In the chambers of my heart
A treasured token

If only I could relive
Each and every day
That has passed swifter than the last
Until fading faintly away
That is impossible wishing
And impervious to logic
Surpassing all known laws of nature
Beyond even Merlin’s magic

So instead I will accept change
As she will most surely grow
And cherish as long as I can
Little hand prints on the window

I would have cherished them more had I known how quickly they would be gone....

Beautiful, touching poem!

I've got a 2 year old daughter. I'm trying to hold onto all the memories.

Hey JML glad to see you joined.  . You are going to like it here. Enjoyed your poem. My kids are young adults now, but the memories of them being young are still fresh in my mind. Look forward to reading more.

This is precious and so well expressed. I read it aloud and my twelve year old sighed, "Cool." I would have to agree!

The years fly by so quickly, I really need to slow down a bit and enjoy it while I have it.  Thanks for reminding me!!!

I remember when I left little hand prints on the window.  Reading this poem made me realize how special those moments really are

This is very sweet,I too remember the print`s from my children.
And they really do grow up way to fast.
There`s nothing in the world as precious as a child

JML-

And this one left handprints
all over the windows of my heart.
