(Sorry everyone...I've been so inspired by the replies to my challange and quite frankly, intrigued by the rhythm I can create with the challange line...so here it goes, one more to my challange     )

Eternal Dance

In the moonlight, shadows dancing
Their bodies intertwined as one
Two together, now romancing
Their moonlit waltz has just begun

In the moonlight, they are swaying
In this dance they’ve danced before
No sound, no rhythm, no music playing
They tread as one, the two, once more

In the moonlight, shadows dancing
In quiet stillness, watch them now
Their fluid motion, so entrancing
The dance, it seems, a sacred vow

In the moonlight, tears are falling
And she murmurs, cries his name
He pulls her closer as she’s calling
It all has changed, but yet’s the same

In the moonlight, shadows dancing
Her voice to him, it does implore
As time and morning are advancing
She whispers to him, “Evermore

In the moonlight, watch them swaying
No longer are they flesh and bones
While underground, their bodies laying
Here amongst the aged tombstones

In the moonlight, shadows dancing
Things happen that we can’t explain
So two souls, discovery chancing
Kiss, as it begins to rain

In the moonlight, Love has risen
As daylight breaks, they disappear
They’ve now released their earthly prison
Or were they ever really here?

At the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet. ~Plato

Oh, Ruth, I adore this!  What a lovely tale of eternal love.  What is it they say?  Nobody ever said love has to die.  It reminds me of those ghost stories we used to tell around the campfire.

Well, what can one say in the presence of The Wizard of The Word?  Well, a few things, maybe.

First, on a scale of 1-10 - 100!

Second, you leave us all in the dust with this piece of magic.

Third, I would make one change, but won't say what unless you really want to know.

Fourth, PUBLISH, PUBLISH, PUBLISH!  Fine piece, this, Ruth!

Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Wow -- what a story!  Brilliant, and heartrending as well ...

I do have one question, though, hun ... seems to me (being a rhythm freak) that in line 10, you meant to say "quiet" rather than "quite," or am I missing something ...?

Love this -- adding to favorites.

Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

Kess...thank you, that was a typo on my side, yes, it is quiet. I have deslexic fingers at times, they type words out of order...lol...thanks for your great comments

Sunshine...what can I say, you flatter me. I'd love to see your suggestion you have to offer. I never turn down any help

Everyone else...Thank you all so much. Rarrely do I write anything that I am very content wit, that makes me happy or proud of my work. For some reason, this piece is one of those rare occasions. Thanks for your overwhelming support of it

The only thing better than this in the writing was hearing you read it to me by phone just last night... Love it Ruth

Sorry I'm late with my responce
I surely like to Dance (French spoken)
But what you do with words there way way up there above
My feet could not dance so fast my dove
I like the way you play with words
You sure know how it works
Well done there
Hugs and Love

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.
