In the Moonlight, Shadow Dancing

How these words appeal to me
like the song that we heard playing
that night so long ago.

Dancing in the moonlight
meet me after midnight,
words that turned our eyes to glistening,
hearts to planning a rendezvous.

Oh, the romance of it
took me trembling to anticipation
of midnight shadow dancing,
back yard lit and crickets singing,
         but
midnight was to me a lifetime,
I called him, so full of my desire
that waiting was no option,
at eleven o five on the dot
I whispered now, not then.

He was there
in just a heart beat
in this softly moonlit place
behind the house, beyond the trees
on grass that held the evening damp.

Moonlight lit the loving arms
that circled me and took me in
to such a love
that time still tells us
of shadow dancing, in the moonlight
of the backyard when we first loved
at eleven o five.

Martie-
This is sooooo pretty.
Funny the things we each remembered
through this challenge, huh?
Yours is a touchingly tender
remembrance that will stand in
your memory for all time.
Especially ~Eleven 0 Five~

Since I am basically a shy kind of guy... I was averting my mind...  but I loved the poem.  Beautifully written.

Thank you all for seeing the feeling that was so special to me, and Mike, averting your mind?  Please don't do that.

I don't buy temporary insanity as they murder defense. Because
people kill people. That's and animal instinct. I think breaking
into someone's home and ironing all their clothes is temporary
insanity.

Eleven-oh-five works for me ...

(Course, so does twelve-oh-five, one-oh-five, two-oh-five, preferably back to back ...)

Oops!  Got a little sidetracked there!   hehehe

This was tender and loving, and not at all deserving of the crass comments I have heretofore offered, but hey, that's just me.

Well done, Martie, and thanks for this lovely vision!

Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...
