Confessions Of the Midnight Hour

I look up at the stars, in the velvet
Night and I can't help but think of you.
You remind me of the stars, glistening
Bright in the heavens, so far away, yet
Almost easily grasped. And like the stars
I could gaze upon you forever and still be
Mystified by the beauty you exude. Sometimes
I wish I could learn all there is about you,
But then the mystery that is your being would
Be lost to me. And so I'm thankful for
What I have now. I smile even now just
Thinking of you. You'll never truly know
How much you've shaped my life; my being;
My hopes and dreams. At times it feels
Like I've known you years, and at others
Like we've only just begun. And I have to
Wonder what will become of us? Where will we
Be in twenty years? Will we still be friends?
Will we have found happiness? An oasis in a
World of chaos? One can only pray. And I do. I pray
Each night for your happiness, because you've
Given me something none of my friends have before,
And not because they weren't good people, but because they could
Never make me feel the way you do. And maybe
I'm crazy and maybe I'm not, but all I know
Is whenever I look up at the stars I feel it
And it feels joyously wonderful.
Thank you.
