Isla Mujeres

Come with me to Isla Mujeres
Where steady trade winds blow
Oceans blue and crystalline
We can finally let love show

Unlock the passion inside
I’m waiting just for you
Meet me beyond the coral reef
Ageless amour, old and new

We'll sleep in the midday heat
Under bright stars, dark sky
Make love with abandon
Diving into loving eyes

Feel the weightless whirling
Your spirit surrounding me now
Like a jewel, multi-colored
Enlightened within, show me how

I want to lie in the hot sand
Cover you with tender kisses
Watch your morning passion grow
Grant you three thousand wishes

We'll ride horses on windy strands
Take a sunset swim at low tide
This love, given half a chance
Surely cannot be denied

And when we return to reality
Tell me it will still be this way
For if you tell me otherwise
On the Isle of Women I shall stay

Isla Mujeres
Te amo

Ay de mi!  Que amor!
Tus palabras son muy bonitas!
(Is that right?  Looks funny without accents and stuff.  Very passionately done!)

Corrine-

The title took me in ...
the beautiful refrains kept me here.
This is surely a beautiful piece of work.

It's somewhere below zero here
and I was just about to get
a cup of hot chocolate
and put on my flannel P.J's.
But now I find myself sitting
here in shorts a tank top
with a parrot on it,
straw hat and flip flops,
sipping a margarita.
Now I 'm freezing my butt off.
Why did you have to return to
reality?

Anne - Mu gracias, seniorita!

Denise and Marge- thank you so much!

Paul - LOL - you are so sweet! Glad to have taken you away on a mini-vacation, anyway!
Keep thinking warm thoughts!

I've been to this island, many moons ago.
A very, very romantic spot! The kind of place where you'd gladly take up hammock making in order to stay!

Reminds me of my dreams!

Sounds like a beautiful place...I'd like to go on a cruise someday and visit islands.

Corinne, I really loved this, you are the jewel, multi-colored.

So is that what you fiery red heads do, make
love with abandon.... I need to write some poems about red heads, but I need something to draw from, with abandon.

You're dangerous, Corinne.  All I needed was my wife looking over my shoulder while I read that, and I'd be grounded from the forum!

Hoot - it is a beautiful place, with an interesting history involving pirates and treasures and kept women!

Haleyja - thank you for the lovely compliment!  Hmmm, well, um, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you might be...possibly...flirting?

Ted - yeah, I'm that!  LOL

James - thank you kindly!

Corinne?  You sound like you've been there!  I'm going there next week!  How cool to see this poem, just in time for my venture there!  I'm gonna do a Catamaran sail to that island - - I know it's gonna be exquisite!!   Thank you for getting me in the mood early!     Beautiful beautiful poem !!

Poet FemmeFatale,

Yes, I've been there, neat place because it wasn't as touristy as some of the other islands like Cancun.

Have a great trip and thanks for the kind words!

Corinne

p.s. Be sure to take the sunscreen!

Corine, excellence sence of adventure and passion with love, to bad my husband and I couldnt go to a place like this, it might just be the thing to save our marriage.

My heart will go on, my tears I will cry, My laughter will fade, but for all this I do for the love of Sammy

Anglesamsmom,

Then go! Go now! Drop everything, cancel this and that and go! Make it the #1 priority! Drop the kids off at grandma's or your sister's or your best friend's house and GO!  Call that travel agent!

Thank you, also, for the lovely comments.
