I found it difficult to be inspired by the "happy" topics of small music boxes, brass-decorated cash registers, or teakettles.  I was thinking that I'm much more interested in people than in such objects.  And then it suddenly came to me -- EUREKA! and here they are.

Stephanie is short, wired, and complicated.
She is always humming, quite out of tune,
As she dashes in all directions at once.
She reminds me of A SMALL MUSIC BOX
THAT PLAYS "THE BLUE DANUBE" AND A TUNE FROM "LA TRAVIATA'
-- But at the same time.

Herbert always acts pushy and obnoxious,
Perhaps to keep people away from his secrets.
But if you really get to know him,
You find he's full of useful and valuable things.
He's like a BRASS-DECORATED CASH REGISTER.

Melissa is usualy so very quiet
You forget she's anywhere about;
But when she heats up and starts spouting
There's no ignoring her.  She almost shrieks out,
"I am TEAKETTLE.  Hear me whistle!"

Clever and enjoyable, Ted! If we set our minds on the things that can make us happy then we will be!

Very much enjoyed these, and looking forward to more!

 May I never be too busy to help another's load,
Then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.

Catchy title, cute poem.  A well-crafted blend of simile and metaphor, with two lumps and lemon, if you please.

--Kess

 Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

--William Shakespeare, from The Tempest
