Last night I had a vision
you wont believe what I was shown.
It was our own sweet Passion’s Suthern
she was in a nursing home.

She was racing down the hallway
in her wheelchair making sounds.
Like she was driving in a real car
all up the hall and down.

As she was coming back again
an old man yelled to her "hey stop!"
My name is officer Toerag
and I’m the hallway cop!

You were speeding, where’s your license?
So she dug down in her bag.
Pulled out a tiny piece of paper.
It was just a sweater tag.

Toe took it and looked it over.
Told her slow down from now on.
She smiled at him sweetly
then she turned and she was gone.

She raced down the crowded hallway
then sped back towards Toerag’s door.
He stepped out to see her swerving
so he stopped her like before.

Lady let me see your license
so she dug down in her purse.
Pulled out another slip of paper
and he lectured her a little worse.

There she went just like the other times
swerving up and down the hall.
Speeding in her little wheelchair
making people jump and fall.

Toerag stepped out just one more time,
was nude and waving in the wind.
Suthern looked at him and smiled,
"Time for the breathalyzer test again?"

With perseverance even the snail reached the Ark.

LOL!!!!  Oh this is good, this is really good!

thanks for the laugh!

May I never be too busy to help another's load,
Then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.

Interesting piece of work

I can visualize her racing down the hallway, but I've spent way to much time in nursing homes visiting my grandmother

Ahhh, Lucie... You've finally given me a reason to look forward to old age... other than the alternative of not making it that far! LOL.

Lucie - this was an EXCEPTIONAL poem - you saved the punch line for the very last line - and you slipped it in there absolutely perfectly - totally unexpected.  You are indeed a force to be reckoned with - What is really scary is how close to suthern you live!  This bodes ill for all us men!

This was the best laugh I've had all day.  Suthern was so sweet in her reply, but Toe, I don't know.

ROTFL!!! Nice re-entry, Lucie. I'm sure that's the smallest breathalizer test Suthern ever had to take!!

Cute, very cute
LOL

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Excellent poem.  I couldn't stop laughing

It's fantasy. But if it contains a piece of me doesn't that make it as real as I am?
