The house is cold
The snow still falls
Rushing down from the heavens above
There isn't a sound except for the flakes
That flutter rather silently down
The house is cold
My hands are cracked and dry
The cold is seeping in
Through the floorboards
Winter invites itself inside
To warm by the dwindling fire
The house is cold
Ice crystals form on the windows
Frozen ice glass
Pressed my hand against
No finger prints
The house is cold

The wrath of winter!
Freezing almost!  Better go check on that furnace.  It has been acting up lately!     Thanks Denise

Thanks Joy! Your poem reminds me of how much I anticipate for winter to pass and for spring to come. Good job.
