Whispers of my Heart
~First Knight~

Holding you close in the night,
Being,
simply because you need me.
With your back against me,
The warmth of our bodies together.
Head upon pillow
and my arms around your waist.
I bow my head and whisper in your ear....

When I am lost and I can't find me,
It is in your eyes that I am found.

When my day has been so hard and bound me tight,
It is in your shelter of love that I find my freedom.

When I can't go on and don't want to,
It is your kiss that brings back that desire.

When I needed love, you found me,
and when I needed my life, you gave it to me.

Because....

My life began in your three words .....
When you first said " I love you."

The tides may change and rivers may flood,
But never will you be without my love.

Drive it like you stole it...LOL And another thing...When I rev my engine I want people to think the world is coming to a end....hehehe

David...I get up in the middle of the night for a drink and this is what I find. So I sit here, sleepy eyed and eyes misted over with tears and try to find words to do this justice, and find myself at a loss for words. I can only say thank you, and that seems so little for the beautiful gift you've presented me.
I love you,
Ruth

David-

I feel a little like I'm peeking
into the soul of a man that has
been awakened by love.

'When I am lost and I can't find me,
It is in your eyes that I am found.'

What a breath-taking look into yourself.
Your heart and soul has been touched.
Love is the deepest inkwell of all.

Hello First_Knight, couldn't help but convey my appreciation of your poem.  "Tides may change and rivers may flood, but never will you be without my love".  Great expression!
With your permission, I shall put that on a Valentine's card to my sweetie.

Laughing...PFF...you been sleeping or what??? Oh, I know, you've been so absorbed with your and Michael's first meeting that everything else has just kind of gone by without notice ... actually, David and I have been talking here online and on the phone and been writing poems back and forth for several months now...I've just been a bit stubborn up until recently

This is so lovely and romantic.  There is no better happy.

and is refreshed.

First Knight whispers from his heart
words of love he doth impart,
knowing he is taken, I'll read the words alone,
and turn lovingly to husband in my very home.

Well done, Sir Knight.

As I said before
When a man is in love, he is in love
A nice romatic poem and so well written
I agree.....more, more
