Show You Love Again

As I lie here alone in bed
I wonder why we never said
The things we feel deep down inside
Words unspoken from selfish pride.

You say you wonít ever love again
but give it a try-then begin
To feel the love I have for you
A love that is honest, one that is true

To confine your feeling of your heart
Will only cause pain from the start.
Open up and let me in
I can show you love again.

I know how you feel, Iíve been there
I understand I really care
I know there will come a day
When you wonít feel this way.

So now Iíll tell you how I feel
With emotion that is real
Oh ďMy Special FriendĒ I love you so
Thatís how I feel, now you know

I donít want to scare you, please do not run
I enjoy time with you itís so much fun.
Open up and let me in
So I can show you ďLOVEĒ again.

I like this -- it could easily be set to music. Don't scream "LOVE" at the end though. It is an emotion most powerful when whispered.

Thanks all for your replys. I wrote this about 7 years ago. Unforunately we did not remain together. He did fall in love again with someone else and is married now. I am not scronful or anything like that. I am actually happy for him that he found someone to love in the way he could not love me.
