Lost Love

Now fear the silent words I spoke
The hidden feelings that I cloaked
Emotion that I did not show
The light in my heart has lost it’s glow
Tears of joy are sour-sweet
Feelings once so strong now never deep
My hands once full, turn up empty now
The smile you see, its only show
My eyes that could not wait to see
Have grown blind without dignity
Thoughts I had have passed away
There is nothing more that I can say

My rainbow is now black and white
A nothing walks along your side
A touch once strong, now so weak
Distance is what I do seek
Words once full of love are now like fall
Gone has the beauty of it all
Stone has become what was so soft
Submerged is now what was aloft
Lost is what was found once in love
Gone with the wind like you my dove
Colours once so bright and gay
There is nothing more that I can say

I do not know the reason why
I do not know why our love fell shy
I do not feel the love glowing as I did
I do not feel my heart click
I do not see with longing look
I do not see the signs written in the book
I do not touch the love inside of you
I do not touch my heart for you
I do not understand how did we got this far away
All what’s left is nothing more that I can say

Sorry seems to be the word that does not calm the pain
Sorry that there is nothing left for us to gain
Sorry for the pouring rain
And sorry that you didn’t feel the same

It can be very painful, losing love for someone...wonderful poem, Helmut!

Oh, Helmut Becker-

My heart breaks at this piece.
I can feel the sorrow and the loss.
Sometimes lessons learned cost us
too much.

I believe that each experience we go
through ... leaves us with the knowledge
of having learned what to do 'right' the
next time.

Here's something to cheer you up !
Smile !

Love ~Marge~

You have beautifully and skillfully written how I have felt so many times.   Yet I will never be sorry that I tried.  James

Like it alot, means a lot to me and special thanks too

Oh Marge
The teddy so sweet. Thanks for the rotating fuzzy guy. And the kind words of guidance. Love and a big bear hug for you. I'm just glad this is a long long time ago. But the pain is still there.

Very well written! It sure does hurt to lose someone we love!

Your sadness starts at the top of the poem on drips all the way to the bottom, in lovely ways

Helmut, oh what a lovely piece...the way you've contrasted all these sensory and emotional components of a loving, feeling  world with those of one so dark, hollow and forsaken. Excellent and evocative device. Thank you for sharing this here.

Oh my that was sweet and soooo very sad...I know someone who was close to me that probably feels much the same way towards me as you do there!!  It hurts knowing I seem to often let dreams slip away!!  Very nice!!
Thank You!!

Just remember that lessons grow
from all those salty tears that flow
and what was before
will be again
another chance to love and win.

Well done expression of the pain of loss Helmut.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Helmut,
Your words were strong and powerful,
Even though they were so sorrowful.
Good job, well done.

Wow.  It would be redundant of me to express what so many other readers have captured from this piece...

so let me be the one to say that I am so glad you survived to tell the story.

Thank you.
