The wind is blowing strongly
Gusts pass my open window
Try as I might I can't not stop the coming storm
It is of my own making

Lost in this maelstrom I wander
Thoughts race about my head
Walls closing in, darkness surrounds
Heart lanced with the razor's edge of life

One by one they flutter by
As my house of cards crashes in

This is lovely, WolfsMate.
Sadly the wind blows us all
around at sometime in our lives.

I was reminded of the times I
actually built card houses and
my big brother would blow them down.
I just built them again ...
a little further away.

Wonderful first post ...
Welcome to Passions.  Hope to see more.

Welcome to Passions.  And with such a simple and beautifully written poem...

Hi WolfsMate,

What got me on this is the storm of your speaker's own making against the house of cards.  Then I thought of lessons learned and to be learned.
