                     The Dream
                                by Terri Madrid

         The bouquet of sweet emotions
fills the air with the essence of lovliness.
       Savoring the nectar from yourlips
I hold you ever so near to my heart.
Our eyes dance with pure merriment
revealing our souls captivated in passion.

Tenderness emmits from your gentle touch.
Wake me not from this precious slumber
I surrender to it's consuming embrace
                   I dream of you.

I had to admit, Terri, I really enjoyed this. It was sentimental, and yet it wasn't at the same time -- almost an analysis of sentimentality? Who knows. But it was cool.

*hides a smile because poets aren't supposed to smile, we're supposed to be depressed* i really like this poem... it's short, sweet, and to the point... not only that but it expresses beautifully the sentimentality of love between two people... i'm extremely impressed that this is only your first post... welcome to Passions and i hope to see more of your work posted soon

sincerely,

Whatever his fortunes or birth.~~~Alice Cary, ~Nobility~
