THE DOOR TO DREAM

Are you listening to stars glistening,
When the wind is perfectly still?
Do you touch Romance in dreams of Chance,
Wonder if you ever really will?
In the snow falling, is coldness calling
For love to somehow set your free?
Open the door to dream once more,
There awaits your Destiny.

Abuzz in the air, a tingling there,
Facing the morning sun.
The blessings of Dawn newly cast upon
The ever fearless "one".
Spread your wings while the soft wind sings
And dance across the sky.
From ashen sorrow, pristine Tomorrow
Wakes with a thunderous cry.

Bright, bold and vast, she whistles past,
Sweet Lightning in her prime.
The Goddess, fair, of all the air,
But prisoner to Time.
With cringe and groan all earth you've known,
Suffers long by her death.
Never a pardon within the garden
Of misting Baby's Breath.

Darkness impeding, Love Lies Bleeding,
Retracts the silvery rose.
The flaxen feel of waxen zeal
Melting wings might impose.
Delivered trust, sifted like dust,
Does Destiny decay.
Closing the door to dream-no more,
All splendor fades away.

Michael, this is, without question, one of the most mellifluously inspired pieces of writing I have had pleasure to read since being directed to this site. Superb!

What else shall I say...see the above
When a man is in Love
He is in Love

****** (New rating system 6 stars) lol

Excellent in word and passion (shall I repeat "Love" again )

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Michael - yer gonna burn yerself out, ya ninnny!!!  Save some of this for the cruise *wink*.  BTW - this is a terrific poem - I liked the way you alternated the couplets(?) with the supporting line.

This poem was an excellently crafted cycle -- you did a masterful job in lending it a sense of closure in the final paragraphs, and it is an apt depiction of the dual nature of love ...

Impressive throughout, Michael.

Just want to say thank you to all for the kind replies.

Claire, gotta admit - I had to run to the dictionary for that one and wow, what a compliment that was...TY

Sy, It's longJohn's fault - he started making me think the door would disappear on me...LOL

LongJohn,  *huffing and puffing*...uh, o.k.

Kess, dang - your reply was almost as beautiful as the poem...LOL  Seriously, TY for reading so deeply into the piece.  Very appreciated.

Michael, This is one of the best poems I have ever read. You are in the heat of creation... keep them coming. I must print this off.

I add my Bravo!  This is a wonderfully done poem with a poet's ear for muse and sound.  Very very good.  Love it.

Michael-

This is just sheer beauty.
My goodness ... it's just lovely.
I like the structure,
the lead ... the chase ... the roundup !
Sheer beauty, I repeat !
