Beware The Lair Of Lies
~Marge Tindal~ 2000

Beware the lair
Lies of love
take you there
Entangled amidst
burning fires
of desire

From the burning pit
the smoke does emit
never again to rise
It lays in a haze
shrouding the days
of passion spent

I hear the lament
from deep in my soul
No other wears these chains
Alone amongst
the lies I wove
caught in my own
lair of lies
I suppose

Defeated
Tangled
in the web
of the lair
left dangling
in the web
of my own making.

*For an acquaintance who is going through
a sad time of being caught in the sticky
web of deceit.

Indeed, 'what a tangled web we weave....' And sadly when the trust is gone, ya can't ever get it back. Great poem, Marge. But of course!

Elizabeth-
Right you are.  So unfortunate when
one gets themselves in this web.
The more they twist the tighter they
stick.
Thanks for the read, my friend.

Denise-
My ever grateful thanks to you for
all your support.

Suthern-

Yeah ... ouch is what she's saying now.
I can help with a lot of things ...
someone's fibs isn't one of them.
And Lord knows I do wish I could help.

Hope she/him doing better soon
Very well done Marge

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Hi Marge,

You've really taken the tangled web to its muse here.  there's more than just a web to deal with.  Good one!

Great poem Marge even though the topic is sticky.  Whatever you write about you do so well.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Bev-
Good for you, gal.  Thanks for the read.

Spiked-
Thank you ... and you're right,
it sure can't be undone ...
gets stickier.

Helmut Becker-
I hope he/she learns a valuable lesson
on truth ... and living with the results
of lies.

Balladeer-
Uh-Oh ... well, I'm not sure I've been a
real friend in this case.  Lies aren't something I live easily with ... however,
you've made me think that perhaps I should
try to be more of a friend to this person.
Thanks, Michael ... *I just called this
acquaintance and offered a shoulder*

Rus-
Thank you.  Yeah, there's more allright.
Usually is, huh?

Rosemary-
Thank you, lady, for your comments.

Whiskey-
I understand completely.  I'm not one
who sits well with lies ... but, guess I
need to be more compassionate so perhaps
this person will learn what damage they've
done to themselves .... gosh, it's hard to
say 'I understand' when I don't ...
but, I've got to try harder to help.

Martie-
Thank you.  Heh .. heh ... on the 'sticky'.
Glad you enjoy.  The feeling is mutual on
your work, gal.

*Thanks to all of you for the input.
