When you gift poetry you've written,
You gift a protion of yourself.
Your deepest thoughts,
Your deepest soul.

When you gift poetry you've written,
You open up your heart wide.
To be seen and read,
Heard and known.

When you gift poetry you've written,
You entrust and bare all.
And some would abuse this trust,
So.....

When you gift poetry you've written,
You need to have a care.
Of to whom you would,
Show your naked soul.

 Words are my medicine.
Read and live and love and heal!

Very well written, I know the feeling!

Very nice, Sharon! They do make the best gifts, don't they? But you do have to be careful who you bare your soul to sometimes...sad, but true.

How true, Enotneicna. I will take heed. I hope you have not been hurt by gifting your poetry. It is indeed a gift.

Hi Sharon,

Oh so nice and true.  To gift a poem is to bare yourself in trust and love.

When you gift poetry you've written,
You open up your heart wide.
To be seen and read,
Heard and known.

Truer words rarely spoken, Enotneicna.
The gifting of poetry is, indeed, a giving of self, and you've given splendidly with this piece!
