Do you ever stop and think about-
The things we used to do?
When you were so in love with me,
And I in love with you.

The world was ripe for plucking
And from nothing did we shrink-
Those really were some glorious times
Do you ever stop and think?

Remember all the hard times?
All those hours that I worked...
Herding some manís cattle-
And my duties never shirked

Youíd have my supper waiting-
When I came in after dark.
Just digging through old memories
Still fans to life a spark...

A spark of love we used to have
Which was a raging flame..
Itís now a bed of ashes...
I donít know just whoís to blame.

It really dosenít matter though-
These partings really stink...
I believe our love could still survive-
Do you ever stop and think?

Some things are worth some serious thought, aren't they? Wonderful, touching poem...

And slight is the sting of his trouble
Whose winnings are less than his worth;
For he who is honest is noble,
Whatever his fortunes or birth.~~~Alice Cary, ~Nobility~

Enjoyed this, Gunslinger. Your work always gives one pause. Seems many of us spend much time in reflection.

*As always, impeccable sense of rhythm and rune.

I really love this, makes me realize that we all should stop and think sometimes. Thanks for the thought of it!
