Through the winter's midnight air,
I long to see you standing before me.
And as the fog clears, I see you there,
Holding my heart in your hands.

My eyes swell up, filled with tears,
And my mind drifts away from me.
Leaving me with thoughts of yesteryears,
Hoping your heart has not drifted.

Then all clears away, it's just you and I,
Standing in the midst of a blackened earth.
I hold my tears back and vow not to cry,
Then you put your hand upon my shoulder.

A light shines down, from the heavens above,
Shining upon your very face.
I know you're the one I can never love,
Though you're holding my heart in your hands.

Thanks Suthern. I got really bored today in English class and decided to write. This was my out-come.

Very sad, I agree. And very beautiful. Well done, Lynn! Now...why in the world would you be bored in English class?! Just fall asleep like I used to do!!!     No, better yet, write these beautiful poems!

Whose winnings are less than his worth;
For he who is honest is noble,
Whatever his fortunes or birth.~~~Alice Cary, ~Nobility~

Thanks Denise. Normaly I never get bored in Enlish class. It is my favorite subject. But we had a substitute teacher and she was boring. Besides, if I get sent to the office one more time for sleeping, I get detention.
