To be in love with you
Is a gift far beyond compare
Of other loves I knew
Before you, before you were there.
I find myself to be
Wishing to hold you constantly,
To hold you close to me
And feel your innocence freely.
Missing you is much more,
Much more than I can handle now.
Coping is but a chore
And to this pressure I must bow.
Running my fingers through
Your darkened locks, you'll fall asleep,
Float on clouds past stars, too.
And for you the stardust I'll sweep.
I take comfort knowing
That for me, you're the only one
To keep my heart glowing
As I keep loving you, my son.

And you, so pale and fine...
I'm so proud of how you've grown
And just because you're mine,
All min and mine alone!
It seems I only blink
And suddenly you are older,
Which then leads me to think
That I should try to be bolder
When you're freedom expands
And then I am forced to let go
Of those once-tiny hands
That now, are running their own show.
Sometimes I will wonder
How you'll look and sound, in that time,
Ahead and asunder,
Sprouting up from beneath my rhyme.
I could not wish for more
Than to fulfill all your hopes and dreams.
I could not wish for more
Than you, the daughter of my dreams.

Children are indeed a special joy Pixie. I am as glad to have my own as you are to have yours. Thank you for letting me post it for you.

What a touching tribute -- glad to see that you're back, if only in surrogate form.

Hope to see more soon.
