Love vanishes, Even with the strongest of faith. It swallows you up in all the hate. You think you are going Where you've never gone before, But it all ends with a lion's roar. You think the one at your side Makes everything so right. But when you blink that eye of yours He's gone with all the lies. You sit there crying in all the pain. Hoping it will all change. But in real life honey, It's all the same. Kissing, holding, touching, All a players scheme. Makes you wonder If he's all what he seems. You don't give him a chance, Thinking it all through. And you say to him, "The hell with you!" You don't need him no more, So you just walk out that door. You hold the tears so they don't fall, You turn around, You can't help him at all. Be strong, walk away, His lies ain't worth the shame. You've gone through hell with his pain, You've stayed years with the blame. No more pain, no more hurt love. It's time for you to go, And get the man you have been dreamin' of. |

Life and Love teach us many lessons. And the older we get the more lessons we learn. One thing that I have learned, and this may sound very unromantic, is that no one person in this life can be our 'everything'. Life really isn't like a book or a movie. We have to be happy and satisfied with ourselves and not look for someone outside of ourselves for that happiness. If someone comes along that we can share our lives with, that's wonderful, but if they don't, at least our happiness and sense of identity isn't riding on that! Well, just some advice from someone who's been around that track more than once! I enjoyed your poem!  Denise |
