I saw an eagle in the sky.
With wings outstretched he soared up high.
Gliding above with graceful skill.
To see such a beauty was a thrill.

No boundaries in this wide open space.
The sky is the limit for him to embrace.
The visions he sees as he ascends up and down,
Must be quite a sight as he circles around.

Tirelessly sailing he decends to rest.
And I have to say I was truly impressed.
The beauty of this wonder in flight,
Left this heart feeling peaceful tonight.

This is beautiful, Eloise! It would be wonderful to soar through the sky like that, wouldn't it?!

Beautiful image!  I love the part about the eagle's wings embracing the sky--a wonderfully evocative description of flight!  I can never witness sights like that without feeling stirred to respond somehow--and yet what response of mine can be adequate enough?  The poem does the trick.

Thanks Denise.  I agree with you.  To be free and soar without a care in the world would be great.

Anne,  thank you for your kind response.  Welcome to Passions.  I travel throughout my home state (Wyoming) quite a bit and every time I see these beautiful wonders it always catches me off guard and I have to pull over and watch them for a bit.  It is quite breathtaking to see them.

It's an amazing thing to watch, the eagle, and you have captured his flight. Lovely.

Hi Eloise,

A wondrous flight I've taken through your poem.  I can now come back down with peace.
