Eagle

High above the valley, upon a starving branch
Eight razor sharp claws clenched
Silently, no sound escaping he sits with a vigilant eye
Raise his beak to release the call
The most majestic bird of all

The early morning sun rises gradually
The observing eye is searching constantly
Nothing escapes his magnifying sight
Nothing small, nor slight
He sees it all
The most majestic bird of all

His wings spreading in the morning sun
Wind and feathers becoming one
Vaulting swift and short
There is no other of his sort
He will never fall
The most majestic bird of all

With his wide, beautiful set of wings
His call still fills the air like hounded strings
Soaring high through the vault of heaven
Motionless and regal
The most majestic bird of all
The Eagle

I tried to insert a picture of the Eagle that I have drawn here but I still don't know how to do this yet. This explain why I have the Eagle as Icon. Hope you like the poetry.

Unto the sky the eagles soars,
Unto my mind, its hope deplores.
Spirited song, so free, so bold,
Across the Welkin's Vault of gold.

Great Poem, Helmet
Eagles are one of my favorite creatures.

Helmut, a person without sight would be able to envision the eagle through your words. Very, very well done.

Splendid work, Helmut. I just love the times when I am outside and get treated to a view of an eagle overhead. I don't see them often, so I revel in the sight when one appears.

Deep I thought what I should say
Your feelings are worth a poem I say
I thank thee for reading mine
May the sun always for you shine

Caroline
I see we share the same passion
Thank you for your reply to my session

One wish I have… For you all
May a dream to hold such a bird come true
I had the honor to hold a Bald Eagle wohu
The most majestic bird of all

The look in his eyes is more than breath taking.
