state of confusion

Journey Home

Friends wonder at my calm,
and utter words like “brave,”
admiring yet inquiring
can’t this just be saved?

Beneath this clever mask,
the face of it so tough,
still some spring of strength,
but will it be enough?

Choices of the essence,
then fortune enters in,
liberty and lasting love,
the journey from within.

Taking time to visualize,
in the quiet of evening,
lives falling into place,
faith to keep believing.

In this simple vision,
picturing you there,
at my kitchen table,
making me aware,

that it wasn’t accidental,
our long association.
Now I know that home
is not always a location.

Corinne, your poem is very beautiful and touching, I felt so relaxed reading it. Like I wished you were talking to me.

Parker, thank you!  I think that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me!

And thank you, also, Nate!

This is so beautifully calming, Corinne! Home is not always a place, is it?!

Hi Corinne,

This flows so well, each stanza so brief, saying so much.  Such care in sharing this journey home.  Wonderful to read.
