dark -
grey and Cozy
the window is fogging and has Frost at the edges
there is an Aura of anticipation
the clouds are mounds of Grey cotton piles in the bowl of the sky
they grow Heavier, and fat with stuffing
a Tear, a small rend
the Feathers come free one at at time
the clouds fill and hte rend Widens
more flakes squeeze clear of their Pillowy prison
Laughing as they fall, they turn and frolick in their windy dance
shimmering, tumbling, they Mute
the cars And factory yards
Children silence their pratter as tehy stare
in Wide-Eyed wonder
enchantment, inspiration, and Grace drift
down to rest on Trees, cars, roofs, and bushes
doghouses are transformed into Front-lawn
Gingerbread huts - it blankets meadows
and Baseball fields
disguising, Metamorphosizing
the city dump crystalizes into mountains of Sparkling sugar
trash cans are eroded into white sand Cliffs
Sculpting, the wind carves the snowy clay into
masterpieces of Fantasy
children Rush to their keepers
begging to be let out into the Snowy Kingdom
the early eve Moon accents the glitter -
strewn as Stardust in the snow
tindy creature's footprints Create a muffled crunch,
as chips on Carpet
angels and snowmen come to Life
snow is given wings, Flying at moving targets
the silvery laughter Rings from frostbitten trees
the sun sinks to the snow, melting butter on the Horizon
Night envelops the falling snow
houses turn to Glass
the trees are cloaked in Swirling ebony and ivory
they dance the Twirling tango of time
until the Snow ceases.
All is at rest, and lives
in Silence.

This is soooooo beautiful, Wendy! Reading this I could almost like snow...hehehehehe
Well, I guess it's not too bad to have once in awhile...as long as my car doesn't get burried in the street again for 2 weeks and I have to take buses everywhere!!

Again, great poem!
