O gold in the mountains
twas the clouds sheen
and sparkling sunlight gold;
dry mountain, white river
quiet shadows dancing upon grass
as the high clouds drift past-
ancient as memory,
sweeter than honey,
but yet only one wonder
of the earth's creation;
good-bye, mountains,
but something like crystal
shining fragments crashing slowly
and as thunder upon the vale;
a secret message
but not "open sesame",
glittering against the water
in colors of multi-truth
called a rainbow;
the water sings
night and day, without end,
from heights so bold
plunging down
so far
and singing,
"come and see why
the fish live…today,"
from the waterfall;
farther out,
sand swirls and a wrathful sun
beats on the cactuses,
vultures circle
in the cloudless sky,
looking for sovereign
scrap meat…
where the river dies,
on that day long ago,
the sand rolls
over colossal ruins
where mummies buried
and soldiers perished
in ancient times;
time is ever-fleeing,
the desert mocks me;
now, in the wild,
where dark is more than light,
under canopies wide
under trees numerous,
where dark creatures dwell
fantasies reign
rivers and streams are dangerous,
snakes dwell everywhere
in brambles, around branches,
tribes mysterious live
in secluded spots
making great use of rivers-
and the abundant oxygen
from the jungle trees;
time to time,
light will shine beautiful
on green plants,
greener than any on earth;
and on grass dry,
where rain is few and shadows are deep
and the wind blows forevermore
as the ocean roars nearby
clouds deep and dark
with rain sweep the drylands
streams light as crystal
and pure as sunlight
run in this lonely land;
wild beasts lurk
agile on their feet, the cheetah,
eyes hungry, yet fearless;
a summer of crystals
in this land-desert
where laughter is soon gone
as the wind goes.

Wow, Hawkwing, I'll need some time to catch my breath after THAT!  Quite a read!  Thanks for the experience.

I agree! Very beautiful painting here!

Hi Artur,

Such a landscape, so bleak and fiece with such a sense of ancient wonder and mystery, a sense of being forsaken, challenged, and glimmers of hope.  Your language is excellent with trusted in vision.  Excellent read!

Definitely a vision and an experience to behold.  What a grand and lovely journey you've taken us on.  Wonderful work.

Thank you for allowing me to live this vast vision, Artur -- it just swept me along like the wind over the drylands.  Breathtaking.
