With thanks to all you Doctors of Poetry who post here

Poetic Medicine

I'm here at home instead of at work
Caught in the grip of the flu
The t.v. is only a mass of snow
So I logged on to ICQ

But it won't open…it must be sick too
Seems my ISP is in disarray
For when I dial up a connection
I only get twenty-eight K

Got booted twice in ten minutes
Just trying to check my mail
Received that nasty little message
YOUR CONNECTION HAS FAILED!

I asked myself a question…
What's a girl to do in times like these?
The answer came right to me
(Pardon me while I sneeze)

Make a big pot of Cuban coffee
Choose chicken as the soup du jour
Then cruise on over to Passions
Where poetry is the best cure!

Thanks to all the lovely poets
I can read 'til I get my fill
Then I'll be better in no time
and forget that I ever felt ill

Caroline,
So sorry you are ill, but I did enjoy your poem so much I could not quite sit still. So take your chicken soup and what ever other pill. And if you like you can even send the
the ever loven bill. *L* Sy

Oh Caroline...I'm sorry you have been bitten too. Know it's not very pleasant. I've been trying to work with it and getting nothing else accomplished.

Oh so sorry Caroline
To hear you have the flu
And as a Jewish bubby
The chicken soup, I know
Will help to pull you through
The poetry of Passions
Will give your soul delight
Both will give that flu
A most effective fight

Hope you feel better real soon....and   I loved your poem

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!

Caroline-

Having felt the bite
of that old flu bug ...
I can tell you
it takes 'chicken soup'
AND a hug.

The soup drowns it
And the hug squeezes the life
right out of it.

Feel better.

I've been sick too.  I was so sick I didn't even want to get on the computer, that's bad! But I'm better now and all is well, hope the same for you.

I sure hope that you feel better soon. I feel so lucky that I haven't come down with this bug yet, (I'm knocking on wood as I type)

the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Oh Caroline, Caroline, so sorry that you're ill;
I know what its like, so keep on with the pills;
and Pepper had the right touch to beat this nasty flu;
now off to your bed, and take the 'puter with you!

[Side note to Pepper - see, you ARE a poet!!]

So sorry that your not feeling well, Caroline. I have heard that this bug is a really nasty one. Take care, drink plenty of fluids, eat your chicken soup and get some rest! Of course, if you'd like to write a little poetry, that would be just fine by me!

And how about that Pepper.....I told her she was a poet!

Caroline - Mistress Best has taken leave for awhile and now it is Mistress Sneeze!

I hope, of course, that it is all over soon - was reading over here about the dreadful flu that is sweeping over Europe and the US. Big big hugs to you my friend

(Oh - and great poem of course - but you know I think that already!)
