Promise me-
that no matter who turns me away,
      your arms are always open,
to comfort me, and ease my pain,
      with words now unspoken.

Promise me-
      that you'll stay forever here,
      without a single doubt,
that this is where you belong,
understanding what my soul is about.

Promise me-
      I'll never have to feel,
      that I'm holding you back,
      from any kind of happiness,
      that your heart may lack.

Promise me-
that I dont have to be scared,
of waking up without your smile,
for one cherished moment with you,
      makes everything worthwhile.

Promise me-
before you ask me for my soul,
Deep inside I have to know,

just this last time I want to hear,
that I'll never agian shed a tear,

that there is no reason to lock away,
the deepest of my thoughts today,

becuase you know now you'll always try,
and you'll never agian say -~-Goodbye-~-

I shall agree with Denise
So young but yet so wise
Very nice

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Wow Amber....this is very lovely. It sounds as though you need to listen to your sister and your heart a bit on this one though

Amber! Nice to see you again    Nice work here, it flows well...

Promise me-
before you ask me for my soul,
Deep inside I have to know,

just this last time I want to hear,
that I'll never again shed a tear

Do you remember my old quote?
The only man worth your tears will never make you cry...
Stop worrying girlfriend, and enjoy what you have together    Time goes by too quickly not to revel in the good things in life!

Amber -

Great poem.  I thoroughly enjoyed the emotions it brought out in me, but what I don't really get is the whole crying thing...  Is it really all that bad to cry?  Perhaps in pain, loss, etc. it may appear bad, but it is great therapy.  In love, tears shed may act as the catalyst in strengthening the bond that two persons have built.  He may never make you cry (I don't know of any such gentlemen - although some of us try not to), but you should anyways due to the great love that manifested due to the unification of two loving souls.  Just a thought.
Loved the poem - content and unique form.

Amber,
I'm impressed with your verses, very lovely indeed, and I liked the different format.
Two thumbs up here!
