Welcome to the family! I liked your poem, but as you will see as you read here, we have a few successful online romances! I've sent you an e-card with this poem so check it out!

I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad online romance...but I'm a firm believer that they can work. One gets to see the persons heart before their face...and you can learn so much about someone before you even met. Just don't give up, okay?

Very nice piece there, although a sad subject.
Welcome to you.
I guess on-line, phone and with voice we are perhaps different, hiding behind the screen
while reality and daily life is a diffrent theme
I'm sorry to hear, but perhaps it was better that way. keep

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Nicely crafted piece.

It's really not any different
than a face-to-face relationship ...
Some work ... some don't.
Takes time ... just keep looking.

Dear SnglDad,

I know of one couple who are making this happen for themselves, against incredible odds.  She lives 7000 miles away, he lives in the heartland of the U.S., and is ill with a life-threatening disease.  She just flew all the way to his home, they've spent the last 3 weeks together.

She is returning home to finish out a job contract then returning in the summer, when they plan to marry.

I've also seen online romances go sour.

But, anytime anyone is in a transitional mode (like going through a divorce), the chances are that they will need time on their own and any love they feel may also be part of that transition.

I wish you luck!

Welcome to Passions. Love is a tricky thing..you have to find the RIGHT person; on line or in real life. You have to have one foot in reality as well as one in your dreams. Build a lasting friendship before you let your heart fly. Some distances can not be over come because of circumstances but that does not mean we can not love.

It is just so many things you need, firstly the love, the special kind that you know sits in the base of your stomach, then you need the circumstances and finally you need the faith that special love only comes once, you don't question it and you can't walk away...then you settle for love.

It will be the deepest regret of my life.

Here's hoping it was the latter for you and not the former..

HUGS

Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn.

I personally feel that loving someone you've met online is the same as off.... The feelings are the same either way... The risks are the same either way, and the success rate is probably the same too.... But isn't it wonderful to get to know someone from the inside out rather than from the outside in???

I would like to say that she and I have
become best friends and she`ll always have a place in my heart. So your right, good things can come from online relations.

This is an interesting subject.  Is there anyone out there that has met another person online and later met them in person and they are now enjoying a serious relationship or marriage with another?  I'd like to know if this has ever actually happened.   I have met a woman online and then in person and we are now friends.  I have another online friend and we have been emailing about 3 months and I enjoy her alot but we have never actually met. Someday we probably will.  She's in Canada and I'm in Hawaii. I believe that email communication can give us hope and understanding but we cannot share a kiss, we cannot have intimate embraces, and we cannot give ourselves to another totally online. We can't even look into their eyes.  Anyway, to clarify this I'm not asking if there is someone having an online romance by emails, I am asking if after you emailed, you then met, you than fell in love, and it was every thing you had imagened, and you have now developed a close friendship or you are now  married.     Just curious and I hope online love exist.  So if it really works how about some feedback.   James

Good poem, SnglDad.  Love the ending, indeed, some get burned.

Just a note for James - WayOutWalt met his wife on-line I do believe and I know of two other couples living together though not married who met on-line.  It can work, but I've seen the opposite side of the coin as well.  Of course, I've met the love of my life on-line, (poetFemmeFatale), and I will be meeting her in person for the first time on the 30th...so keep a close watch, and you'll know firsthand just how these things can go.
