I have a date,
I HAVE A DATE!!
oh my lord,
I can't be late.

I primp and gloss,
I hesitate.
The hands do shake,
oh what's the cost?

It's been so long,
I am afraid.
What will I say?
What will go wrong?

I must be calm,
I must show grace.
Will he notice,
My sweaty palm?

So many years,
Since I've dated.
Will there be smiles?
Or end in tears?

Take heed my dear,
and do not fear,
about this date,
for YOU are great.

Go get him daughter-in-law!
We just hope that HE is good enough for YOU!
Love ya!

Oh Marilyn, do not fear,
I'm sure it will be great!
You will just look perfect
and won't be a moment late.

I hope it's all your dreams come true;
That he takes your breath away.
I hope he treats you like a lady,
And knows all the words to say.

But Marilyn, my dear friend,
There's one thing I hope you see;
If he breaks that fragile heart
He'll have to deal with me!!!!

Okay...now take a deep breath and say..."It's going to be fine, I'm a beautiful person inside and out and if he can't see that, he's not worth it anyhow!" and then go get him!!! Hugs dear, it will be fine. Just be the wonderful person that you are.

Hey, Marilyn,
This sure is great!
You'll have no problems
On a date.

With all your grace
And female charm
A man would love you
on his arm.

You have a face
To make God smile
And, with your wit,
How you beguile!

You've got no worries.
You're prepared.
It is the guy
Who should be scared.

For he's the one
Who must impress
A vision of
Pure loveliness.

So get out there
And let it be.
I only wish
That it were me!

Marilyn - I remember having a date once... with George.... yep...

Ya see - on his way to my house, he got a flat tire - showed up driving on the rim... didn't have the key to take off the hubcap thingy - he was making dinner at my house - the oven didn't work - so the pork roast in wine basted mushroom sauce (whatever fancy name he called it) never cooked - we ordered out for pizza delivery.... We went out dancing - in my car - Another friend of mine drank too much - fell and hurt himself (broke his arm) - I insisted on driving him home - had to fight off the drunk's advances while George helped me get him into his house safely.... went home, and continued to explain to George that there was no way he was going to spend the night at my house just because he had a flat tire.... He got a cab to take him home.... The next day I went to work before George returned for his broken car.... figured out how to work the oven when I got home.... and had a wonderful wine basted pork roast for dinner...... alone....

Um..... was that what you needed to hear???
It's a true story - Every word of it.....

You are going to have a much better time then Nan, I think....I hope.

the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Marilyn, Now you tell this guy that if doesn't treat you with the respect that you deserve because you are a lovely person inside and out that he will have to reckon with a bunch 'o' us and we can wield words better than he can wield a sword(or any other weapon of his choice.) Just kidding... I think... go out and have a good time and let tomorrow take care of itself. In case of real bummer.. there's always Balladeer.

Thankyou all for your encouragement...The date is tonight at 7. I will let you all know how things went tomorrow...lol.

Nan...on my...I hope my date turns out better then that. :0  Doesn't sound like you had a good time...although a good dinner you were able to have the next night...lol

Wild Child...I don't think that Mike would be such a bad date. Accually, I think he could show a girl a nice time....you just have to watch out for the hands..lol

My date's at seven,
I'm going nuts,
Don't know what to wear
Or what to do and such.

It's six fifty five,
I need a drink,
I'll drink a tequila
It'll help me think.

I'll mix another,
My nerves are shot,
Oh my God,
I'm worrying alot.

Okay, just one more,
Another tequila,
It's almost seven,
I can't believe it.

He's finally here,
I forgot to get dressed!
Oh what the hell,
He'll love my big breasts!

Balladeer...I did not mean to hurt you!! I am so sorry. Please forgive me!! I don't think that you would ever be considered a last resort to anything!
