Dear dear Rose,
Please read my reply,
To your dear poem,
Just because I,
Have been where you are,
And it's truly so sad,
I know what it's like,
Listen to old Toerag.

I replied in your post ma'am...I doubt it will help..but read it if ya get the chance.....Guess a "father' can never know or feel the exact same thing as the mother...but I can feel a bunch of your anguish and hurt.......

What a sweet poem Toe
it touched me so
cause I have been there
too, you know.

There is no question
when a child dies
all its loved ones
learn how to cry

The tears never go away
They can return any moment
But the sun does learn to shine again
And life sweetly does go on...

Toe, I will tell you what I told Rosemary, there are many ways to lose a child...I do not have a grave to visit, just my memories.

My arms wrap about you, as well, in human understanding.

I would imagine that the pain runs equally as deep for a mother or a father. You have my sympathies for your losses, too, Toe.

Heart wrenched here - no empathy, but much sympathy.

Dear Toerag,

I am deeply moved and honored by your personal poem, in response to mine.  I am also saddened that you have lost TWO daughters!

Certainly, a father's grief is as great as a mother's, and I send hugs to you, no matter whether it was recent, or long ago, for the loss always remains - a hole in one's life.  Sometimes that empty place flares up like a gaping wound, and other times heals for a while.  Certainly, time helps, but, contrary to common belief, time does not heal all things.

Your comforting and kind words have meant so much to me!  I sent everyone an e-mail, who responded to that poem, with heartfelt thanks, but to you, I send a special one - your kindness, empathy, and thoughtfulness has meant a GREAT deal to me.  Far beyond explanation!

I have a darling loving husband who means the world to me, and all of the responses here have amazed him as well.

Again, thanks from the bottom of my heart.

How sweet, Toe....may they be the first to greet you when you walk though those gates. I sent this to Rosemary and also wanted to send it to you...of course, I had to change one word for you.

Together, you and I will be,
In the life beyond this one.
Together in eternity,
We'll greet the setting sun.
This life is not an ending,
It's really just a start,
And in the future pending,
I'll find my missing heart.
Do not fear, dear little one,
You will find your wings
For you, beyond the rising sun,
Your father's voice still sings

Toe,
And through our poetry we learn of one another's lives, and now we know that you have experienced a grief far greater than any I could imagine. We also know of your tenderness through your poem above, which is very lovely
Love ya,
Liz

Toerag-
I'm just beginning to sort out all the good people who contribute here, I was astonished to experience the difference in your responses in the Adult Forum and here. I was so touched to discover your tenderness, empathy, and understanding, and so saddened to hear of your own tragedy. I was also moved by all the posted responses to your reaching out. Thank you.
