Only the Rose
--------------------
In the garden,
many flowers grow
There is a special one
That I nolonger hold
It lies in the heart of the garden
and in the heart of my soul
I long to touch its precious beauty
and breathe its sweet scent,
Its image is with me everywhere,
as I fall asleep,
and with my first breath of the morning air
I have tempted other flowers in the garden
but show no emothion, they will ever know
My heart is lost to that special flower,
and as I walk through the garden,
I know, I can love,
Only the Rose.

Very lovely..makes me wish for spring and the sight and smell of the roses in my mother's garden...great work!

"It lies in the heart of the garden
and in the heart of my soul"

I enjoyed the symbolism in this piece. Very tender...well done.

Thanks Quiet Lightning, and Lynn.... I believe that the Rose is just natures personification of the female beauty and spirit. Oh yes and let me not forget their sweet, leg weakening, scent.
