Hide amongst the shadows
find some shelter in your tears
go ahead and play the victim
you donít have to face your fears

Hide amongst the shadows
to your heart speak only lies
Take comfort in this masquerade
of merciless disguise

Hide amongst the shadows
why cause yourself the pain
wallow in the water cold
of self inflicted rain.

Hide amongst the shadows
Let the clouds fake your despair
but donít expect to find the warmth
of a sun thatís never there.

Hi, Kevin. Just wanted to say I enjoyed the poem, especially the phrases "water cold" and "clouds to hide your despair." I'll have to look for more of your stuff. Keep a sense of humor!

Kevin, this piece is lovely...especially when read aloud. I especially like the lines

"Take comfort in this masquerade
of merciless disguise"

and

"wallow in the water cold
of self inflicted rain."

Nicely done.
