    Haunted by the wrong

It struck me like an ocean shoal.
A floundering ship with gaping hole.
I thought of heaven, I thought of hell.
But mostly I stood there in a spell.

And thoughts just cuff me all at once,
I'd been a fool, I'd been a dunce.
I let her go, without a thought,
I let her go, now I'm distraught.

And the tear that set my eyelid sill,
Ran down my cheek as another one fill.
As her spirit walked across my chest
And bellowed the load within my breast.

God I miss her like a force,
She was no angel even coarse.
Had little looks and less of charms,
But filled the hollows of these arms.

She rubbed me wrong she rubbed me rough.
I plagued her soul with never enough.
Now she is gone and past her song
And I am haunted by the wrong.

She is past and gone and to, her song.
And I now live with the bad and wrong.

I think we can all relate to those haunting moments...regrets from the past. I know I can! Well done, Seymour!

This is so beautiful, yet heartbreaking.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Heartbreaking indeed, masterpoet - hugs to you. You write beautifully, no matter the topic. (hey - you know where I am if you need me OK?)

Sy,
This is so lovely in it's phrase but sad. I hope it's not the poet who is tormented. But you express the torment so beautifully

I give you ~HUGS~ Sy, cause if she left because you wanted more attention, you dear man have the strength to carry on.  Remember we start to know ourselves a little better inside each time a relationship fails!  Hang in there hun!

Whether or not this is truth or fiction, you have the ability to leave the reader always believing "fact", and left hurting with the ache...
