       See the candles light

Tender tears touch and go,
Beneath a mask they flow.
They rain the future with past shower,
Where subtle new shoots would flower.

They grieve the past, far out of reach,
Where waters past have leached the beach
And wet the future with jaundiced eye.
And cry themselves inside oh my.

T'is a sad road and a bad road
And oft a dreary cipher code.
It does no good to tear the past.
For the past is gone, alas, alas.

Better to brew a future tea,
Of what is not and what to be.
Then spend the present in repartee
And clutter the path of morrows way.

Better to look for a candles light,
Then cry and sigh in the dark of night.

i burnt my candle at both ends
it felt wild and abandoned
but now it's caught my house on fire
i kinda wish i hadn't

Oh, well, back to the writing pad.  Your poem is better than mine.  Rhymes better too.

Seymour: Too often I stumble and sigh in darkness... when I shouldn't be just looking for a light but creating one to share. *S* Great poem!

Beautiful poem Sy and some great thoughts.

the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Sy: Shadows will creep up on us and I love these 2 lines:

"Better to look for a candles light,
Then cry and sigh in the dark of night."

but somehow that candle keeps on flickering..
