Morning's Pull

The morning's pull, sweet sonnet mine,
demands us rise and stir
but for all of daylight's toil and tasks
your lingering kisses blur
into the farthest forest shades
into the nearest night
into the sounds of love we've made
and sleep's seductive sleight.

For evening wrapped us in its cloak
and bade us share each breath
with blood arising and our sighs
defying midnight's death
within our aching lover's hearts
within sweet mystery's moans
within this state of passion's grace
where eternity's seeds are sown.

This is beautiful Meadow--your words are seductive and tender.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Superb, Claire.  It reminds me of each morning Lorelei and I share, and the lingering call of the night already spent and dying.

jaxjoy, thank you for such an enthusiastic response.

LngJhnAg, yes, it is a rather bittersweet morningtime feeling. Thanks for the encouraging comment.
