The New Year is here, We're full of good cheer, Except for the snow, Oh man, did it blow, It was a real blizzard, Or so I heard, Storm of the century, storm of the year, Storm of the millenium, that's what I hear, Which brings to mind, If you'd be so kind, What pray do we call, The year which we fall, Perhaps double aught, The name will be sought, Or maybe called zero, That's how we'll go, But my choice, the one that I'll sing, Praise be it's here, the year of the nothing. ok.. give me a break... we're snowed in here at the 'stute and there isn't much to do today. |

But "nothing" still brings Us such precious things - Friendships we hold dear Survive in this new year... Giving us all hope And helping us to cope With winter's bleak chills And all of those bills That weren't left behind With ole ninety-nine! |

Granted, the term "New Millennium", we bought but to have this new decade referred to as "Ought" is more "kewl phraseology" than I can endure Though it's not "pc" or "current" or "hip" I think we should call this the decade of Zip. Liked your poem!  Claire |
