Beanie Babies, Pokemon,
Cabbage Patch and Barbies
GI Joe and Baseball cards,
What the hell's a Furby?

Pet rocks are neat,
And they don't eat
They just lay there,
Seldom speak.

Stand in lines,
Camp there at night,
If you butt in,
There'll be a fight!

Spend six bucks,
On a ten cent bear,
Full of beans,
With purple hair.

No Pokemons yet,
But a hundred Beanies,
No need to fret,
Just cash in "CD's"

It's not the cash for what it's worth,
That makes me so darned fumed,
It's what has happened to my girth,
From Burgers I've consumed.

Now every stinking Tuesday,
We have to trade our cards,
And eat these stinking kids meals,
That are deep fried in lard.

(Great work Toe!)

And though charity will be served
Methinks Ty Warner has his nerve!
Pay now to make a call if you
Think make more Beanies he should do!
His advertising gimmick worked
(I still think it stinks of "jerk!") *G*
Being still in Beanie haze
I shall not join Pokemon craze!

Great job, Toe... I love your poem... even as I chuckle over our willingness to follow the herd! LOL.

And don't worry, LR... grease on your teeth keeps the flies from sticking to 'em! *EG*

I know what you're saying,
It's really a drag,
Whoppers for dinner,
For the cards that ya have.

But just think of the value,
Have it your way,
A burger and fries,
On all those "trade" days.

Ah yes, the latest crave has come,
Hear the children squeal out in fun.
"Gotta catch 'em all," they loudly shout,
As their parents dig the money out.

Their eyes dance with hopeful glee,
As their parents pay the "Kids Meal" fee.
They dump the food and rip into
The packaging in search of Pikachu.

They wail with ever ascending cries,
When they don't get with their fries,
A Charizard or a Blastois,
Just like they saw with the previous boy.

Oh Tuesdays, I greet you with great lament,
When I think of all the money spent,
On food that is quickly forgotten,
By greedy children who are spoiled rotten.

Pokemon, you'll get your due,
When parents arise and come for you.
You've driven each of us insane,
"Gotta crush 'em all" will be our refrain.

At least that's one night
When you know your plans
No need to ponder
At a pantry of cans.
On Tuesdays, no question!
You know what to do
Go to BK and bargain
For that Pikachu!

At least those of you with kids have excuses... besides an inability to grow up! *G* I'm still giggling at the priceless look on my Dad's face when I got Beanie Bear Wallace for Christmas! LOL
