When all my secrets are whispered
All the lies exposed and clear
When everyone has seen my tears
And knows the thoughts which I hold dear
When trust has reached its outer limit
And the last word has been spoken
Then I know in my fragile mind
That my hear has coldly been broken

When friends become enemies
And people see my frown
When I stand all alone
My face turned down
When sadness is my constant companion
And smiles are few and rare
Then I know my hear is broken
And you no longer care

When I fight with myself
Knowing not why
When I struggle to see
To understand your good bye
When I cry myself to sleep
And think all things are bad
I realize that my heart is broken
And your love has made me sad

When everything is over
And nothing remains
When I realize the truth
You were just playing games
When I look at myself
And see loves lost touch
I know that my heart is broken
And that I miss you so much

God woman, you bring back some very painful memories for me.  This poem is vey well developed- to say the least.  I can only hope that you've learned from this experience, and it's made you a stronger person despite the hurting.  Believe me when I say that things will get better!!  And welcome to passions- where your pain- for the most part- is shared throughout us all!

Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...

Thank you for posting your comments about my poetry.  I've almost never shared my poetry with others and it is encouraging to know people like what I write.

Great poem Deborah! I can relate to it, as can many others I am sure. I especially like the last stanza.

Deborah,
A contradiction but the fair sex is like that.
Beautiful poem, well done, enjoyed the read.

Very beautiful poem.  I've also been there.
Thank you.

Another welcome, Deborah.
Ah, the great constant of the human condition - the ups and downs of falling in and out of love. Where would poets be without it? Enjoy the ride, 'cause you can't get off the rollercoaster, despite what Balladeer says.
