Remember me as the dawn comes,
when your soul is aching anew,
when I no longer justify myself,
remember my love for you.

Although I'm the one letting go,
it's just as painful of a goodbye,
there now stands a starless heaven,
remember there are two that cry.

Memories of us are etched along-
my soul in firery grains,
I will always have a love for us,
please remember me just the same.

Letting go can be so painful. I like this, especially the line
"remember there are two that cry."

Nicely written, devina, but if a woman lets me go, I'll do my best to forget her as soon as possible and, if I can't, she'll never know that.

Heartbreakingly beautiful.

Devina,
Balladeer, is right, why dwell on the past when the future can be so beautiful.

Deer and Sy- I know you two are right when it comes to forgetting.  This was a poem I wrote right after my ex fiance and I broke up. I was trying so hard not to hate him. The newest feeling is very bitter I must say, as you will read in my next posting.  By this poem, I only tried to let everyone know that I haven't always felt such bitterness towards him after we broke up.  Thank you all for your comments!

This is very sad and beautifull. Endings bring new beginnings.
I don't know if this is a good time to bring this up, but does this mean your single?

It's never easy to let go
If it circles around love
Well written
Sad do.

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.
